One of the main reasons for global warming is an increase in greenhouse gases, such as CO2. With less greenery and forest, the air does not have a chance to clean itself, since plants absorb CO2 and release O2, which we need to survive. The urbanisation of rainforests means that they are being cut down, exacerbating this effect.

What is a good performance microphone for a lead singer with powerful vocals? I need extremely clear sounds...?
I just got signed to Jive records! :) Well technically not signed but me and 3 other singers are set to perform in Las Vegas in the place Celine Dion had her big show. It's already sold out and we have to provide out own gear! Then, whoever is the best, Jive will sign and I'm desperate! This has been my dream forever and I can't believe it's coming true and I just need the best equipment, but not too expensive. I've heard the Electro-Voice ND767A is amazing for it's price. I have strong and powerful vocals so the mic can't blow up with horrible sound every time I hit a high powerful note so I need something that can withstand strong vocals and also delivers a crisp, clear sound. Very professional sounding. Please let me know if you've heard good things about this or if you own it and like/dislike it. Also I need a pop filter...one that slips over the microphone so if anyone knows any good pop filter's for that microphone. Also, a boom stand to go with it. And while I'm here, does anyone know of any good piano keyboards that aren't too expensive that I can give my friend for christmas. He's had the same one for years and needs a new one. How can 'evidence' ever be convincing enough if it depends on the POV of the person interpreting it? Is it clear that no amount of scientific evidence can lead some people to naturalistic explanations?
When someone has been indoctrinated from birth into a certain way of thinking by people they instinctively trust: parents teachers, pastors, it is very difficult to break out of it. Evidence alone will never persuade them otherwise, they don't care about evidence, clearly, since their entire world view is already independent of the world. There's not a lot that can be done for them accept that hope that in time the rational parts of their brain will encroach on the faith parts.
It reminds me of the story of Kurt Wise, a young Earth creationist who attended a Geology course at the university of Chicago, and did a PhD in Geology at Harvard under the great Stephen J Gould. During his education, which you understand was the best kind of education it is possible to receive, he became aware that the science he was learning and the geology he was studying out in the field himself, completely contradicting his childhood YEC indoctrination. This came to a head one evening when he took a pair of scissors to a Bible and took out everything that would need to go if he took science seriously. He reports that there was barely anything left, and the book fell apart. With great sorrow he cast away all hopes and dreams of ever becoming a scientist and teaching science.
';What nagged me was that even if the days were long periods of time, the order was still out of whack. After all, science said the sun came before the earth鈥攐r at least at the same time鈥攁nd the Bible said that the earth came three days before the sun. You ever notice these atheists are all angry. Look at Bill Maher...a fifty year old still rebelling against the world cuz some preacher in the family probably copped a feel. That's why I enjoy letting them all know that they're going to burn in the pit of HAYELL! Spending your life having to prove something against religion makes you just as much of a brainwashed slave as you claim are those that you persecute.
Maybe there's a genetic explanation for why some people are predisposed to religion and the supernatural. It's almost like their brains are especially susceptible.
I noticed that the person mentioned ';evolution'; as part of one of the things he/she learned from the book. So this person apparently does not see a contradiction between naturalistic concepts like evolution, and faith in God ';and the creation.'; In fact, the person seems to believe that all these things lead to a further appreciation for God and His methods of Creation. That's great. (Darwin wrote something similar, by the way.)
The goal of scientific evidence is not to lead people to naturalism. It's to lead to scientific understanding. There is no contradiction to believing that naturalistic processes are guided by supernatural powers (like God). The mistake is only in believing that *evidence* will support that belief in the supernatural.
People who have true faith (like this person seems to be, from this passage) are not threatened by science. They don't look to *alter* science to provide verification and evidence of their faith. Since they are perfectly happy knowing that their faith requires no empirical verification, no evidence, then *everything* strengthens their faith. The beauty of nature, and in our ability to understand it through science, only strengthens that faith.

To Bullet Magnet ... indeed a sad story. The problem with Kurt Wise was that he was caught in the trap of Biblical literalism ... which is a form of idolatry ... worshipping a Book instead of God. The Bible is supposed to be an inspired *path* to God ... not an object of worship itself. Wise had never been given the tools for knowing how to read *allegory* to find deep Truth. He thought that meant reinterpreting ';day'; to maybe mean ';X million years in God time'; ... and this is still *MISSING THE POINT*. The Bible *CAN* be reconciled with science *IF* you recognize the Bible for what it is ... allegory and guidance ... not a literal chronicle of mundane events (like whether birds were created before land animals).
Trying to ';fix'; the Bible to fit science is just as misguided as trying to ';fix'; science to fit the Bible.

Maybe there's a genetic explanation for why some people are predisposed to religion and the supernatural. It's almost like their brains are especially susceptible.

So this person apparently does not see a contradiction between naturalistic concepts like evolution, and faith in God ';and the creation.'; In fact, the person seems to believe that all these things lead to a further appreciation for God and His methods of Creation. That's great. (Darwin wrote something similar, by the way.)
The goal of scientific evidence is not to lead people to naturalism. It's to lead to scientific understanding. There is no contradiction to believing that naturalistic processes are guided by supernatural powers (like God). The mistake is only in believing that *evidence* will support that belief in the supernatural.
People who have true faith (like this person seems to be, from this passage) are not threatened by science. They don't look to *alter* science to provide verification and evidence of their faith. Since they are perfectly happy knowing that their faith requires no empirical verification, no evidence, then *everything* strengthens their faith. The beauty of nature, and in our ability to understand it through science, only strengthens that faith.

I have been going out with a guy for four months now. Recently his body language has changed. Sits with arms crossed, not as much PDA, walks in front of me and sex less often. He has told me before that he doesn't want to have sex unless we spend the night together. There were a few days in the week when that would happen at the start of our relationship. Now, it is only on the weekend. I asked him why he was putting off this vibe of not wanting to be with me. I pretty much just directly asked him why he won't have sex with me. He said that I was being insecure and not read into things. Is he lying? Is what he didn't say important. He didn't say, ';O. No. I don't want to leave you.'; But that would be telling me what I want to hear. Right? I should mention that he is unemployed and under a lot of stress. Could that be why the change? I don't want to bring it up again because then he would think I being insecure. He wants to break up. Right? You make it sound like unless he doesn't have sex with you, he isn't with you. Don't make it seem like sex is going to keep the relationship alive. It can, but he may just need someone to talk to. Well, obviously Han can't shoot the Lead Tie or Darth Vader would be dead when Han clears the Kid and allows him to blow this thing.
Ok...to clarify, if you watch that sequence again. When Darth has him (Luke) now...Han comes in at a steep (downward) angle to shoot the Tie to Darth's Right (Left on Screen). Wonder why he does not shoot the lead Tie (Darth). Also, when he blows up that Tie, there is a 4-5 second delay before the alternate back-up tie loses control and clips Darth's Tie. So during that 4-5 seconds, why does he not keep shooting to take out the other two tie-fighters. The only thing I can think of...is that you can tell he is not coming from directly behind the ties...because of the angle that his blast come into the trench...so maybe he was sizing up another shot when everything just worked out. I get tired of people saying i will cut taxes only to find they cut one tax publicly and raise others behind my back .WHEn they cut federal taxes my local taxes increased to cover the shortage in federal dollars that use to come to my community .
SO i did not get a 500 tax break i got a 45 dollar increase in my taxes .
BEING able to add and subtract helps when you figure your amount of taxes paid each year .
WEther it is a communications fee or tax or airline tax or power bill tax or any place i see tax / fee it is money out of my pocket so i pay attention .and every year my taxes go up in one form or another .
HOW come people listen and believe we got a tax break when by my calculations i paid higher property taxes higher taxes on my increased insurance premiums and higher communications electric and water .

Yep, you nailed it. You got a ground problem somewhere, or a funky solder connection, more than likely where you're touching the Hot lead.
However, if you can touch any Hot lead and have good results, it's definitely a ground issue.
Take a piect of wire(6'; to a foot) and touch around from the ground on the output jack to various ground points on the rest of the electronics till you find the magic spot. May have to solder a wire from there to that ground.

Ultimately (along with Democrats in the early 90s) that resulted in banks being pressured to give loans out to anyone even those that they normally wouldn't consider qualifying for paying back the loan. That is the root cause of the situation we're in now. Too years of loans handed out to people who shouldn't have qualified.
I think it has some effect but the real reason is the honeymoon stage of a McCain/Palin campaign or as Palin stated Palin/McCain ticket is over. People are no longer interested in just hearing about the Soccer mom and have become more realistic that if she were the VICE president (not president as many keep implying, Palin included) she wouldn't even have any care for the kids it would go onto her spouse and Nanniies. Would we really allow a major crisis to be put on hold because she had a sick baby. Being a parent is not what makes a person a good candidate. It is a lot more than that. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean we should vote for her either. Being nominated as a woman was a historic event but that is it.

Well I can see plain and clear that stimulus spending and restoration of credit markets - the two primary new (and temporary) government programs - are only to get the engine of capitalism going again. Socialism has no need for spending stimulus ever, and no need for credit markets.
And if you are talking about health care - that is just a matter economic necessity. The system we have is unaffordable, out of control does not cover everyone and guarantees bankruptcy for any one seriously sick or injured - even the insured. First- a remote collar is NOT the answer to a recall problem. Some people have success with this, but only VERY experienced trainers- it will usually make the problem worse rather than better.
Second- Randee had some good ideas- you need to teach your dog a sit/stay or down/stay- have the dog tethered to you, and work with people opening the door. Your dog should be in either a sit/stay or down/stay when the door is opened. You will start with the dog far enough away that she is less likely to react- she gets rewarded for doing her stay- you will slowly decrease the distance between you and the door. You want her to be successful so you can reward her. She will quickly learn that the way to get that treat is to stay in her position when the door opens. It takes time and consistency- you must do this every time- but if you do it, it will work!

Do this especially when you know people are coming over, walk to the door and have her sit/stay before you even open the door. Praise her, then open the door and allow the person to come in. If you can, arrange for someone to do this several times a day (if you live with someone, give them a bag of treats so they can reward her everytime they come in and she's a good girl). This is what I did with my dog and it seemed to work very well. Just remember, do not take her off the lead until you are 100% sure that she will not take off.

That's a terrific question. Irrelevant - but very interesting. If I am Tiki - yes, I'm kicking myself. But that's making the assumption getting a ring was Tiki's number one goal and, that he retired because he didn't believe the Giants had a legitimate shot, with or without him. Tiki did get out with his health, a lot of money and a long-term promising career in broadcasting (I believe he wants to a Good Morning America host or something - not a lifetime football analyst - and he might actually achieve his goals.) But to me - I would secretly be devestated if I were him - I'm a competitive person and if I had the opportunity to play a pro sport - NOTHING would be more important to me than winning a championship before my body forced me to 'retire.'
