All of the negative attacks on Palin backfired. Now, IF Obama goes through with his plan to continue to be negative, don't you think that people will be turned off? People have already grown tired of all the special treatment Obama has received, with 51% of us thinking the media gives him special treatment.

Now that McCain has a clear lead in the polls, isn't it a mistake on Obama's part to go negative?
Of course it is but don't tell him that. ;)Now that McCain has a clear lead in the polls, isn't it a mistake on Obama's part to go negative?
If by negative you mean responding to the McCAin/Palin lies and misrepresentations, then no it is not a mistake. Palin's interview clearly shows that she is not qualified to be the Vice President of the PTA.
Women need to understand that if this unqualified woman gets into the white house she will fail miserably and as a result it will be another 20 years before a woman is taken seriously enough to be given another shot. Remember Geraldine Ferraro 1984 VP nominee?
What special treatment would that be? Obama has had his religion, wife, children, ethnicity, race, Character, integrity, honor, patriotism, mother and father challenged, insulted, denigrated, and dragged through the mud for 19 months
No, it is not. However, he has to correct his aim. It has been a huge mistake to target the Palin, and yes, I know that he paid lip service to not doing the sexist attacks, however, he sure did not control his hits squads from doing it, so, his disclaimer was pretty widely seen as being just a transparent ploy.
He has to go negative, because he has to catch up. He has to get on the issues however - not personal attacks - attacks based on the issues is the key. Personally, I have the sense that he is not very good at it, so he had better watch his words. He does not need any more bloopers hanging out there and clouding his message.
Polls are meaningless. And I find it interesting that it is okay for Palin to attack Obama and disrespect his job as a community organizer, but it's not okay for Obama to make a comment about McCain's plan by equating it to putting lipstick on a pig. That actually is a fairly common phrase in use in politics, Karl Rove and McCain have both used it in speeches. Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican.
Negativity has always worked in the past,, so why should it not work for him, after all the majority of people that he is targeting are not interested in what exactly what his plan to improve the economy only that he says that he will, while attacking McCain for his lack of a plan, he has never outlined his plan, other than raising Taxes, and cutting the military.
Higher taxes means higher prices, and less jobs. and cutting back on the military means less security.
Not really, McCain is telling outright lies about Obama and Palin. McCain has gone VERY VERY VERY negative and it helped him. McCain had made this about things that do not relate to the issues and all of this works for him. They did the same to Kerry. Now they are doing it to Obama.
I say, stop the lies, unleash the truth. Smear McCain at his own game. Expose the lies he tells.
Keep the pressure and do not relax till McCain gets into White House. There are still 8 weeks to go and a lot things could happen. The reason I am voting for McCain is I will not trust Obama a bit because he has been preached, brainwashed and polluted by his left-wing black preaching extremist for more than 20 years, which is almost 1/3 of one's life
Answering the outright lies of the mccain camp isn't negative. The republicans are about smear tactics, lying and underhanded dealings, they've ALWAYS gone negative but let someone try to fight back and oh my god how dare they! With republicans it's always do as I say not as I do.
Oh, but he's different. %26lt;%26lt;EXTREME SARCASM%26gt;%26gt;
Yes, it's a mistake and it will backfire. Nothing will save his downward spiral.
No, no, no.
Let him go.
encourage his supports to put this garbage out at every opportunity.
It's working great. 鈽?br>
Edit:
lilloric: I just noticed your post. What is a reputable poll, and which one does not show McCain ahead? Just curious.
I think it is defineately backfiring.
Ever since McCain started getting ahead all he does is
SLANDER.
It makes him look immature/Childish
It makes him look even more dishonest too lol
Besides his morals and values are all messed up
Mcain %26amp; Palin 08'
have my vote
Obalmer's true color is coming out...the big question will be, when will the riots begin?
Latest polls...

McCain doesn't have a clear lead. Different polls show different things, and the national polls are irrelevant anyway.
Obama's campaign is falling apart.
no reputable poll shows mccain with a lead
People are really starting to see Obama for who he is.
What else can he do but grasp at straws?
Going negative is never the answer...
