EMG Pickups. When I touch my finger to a HOT lead, sound is clear. When I take it off, sound is very faint.?

I am wiring emg 81/81 in my jackson. 3 way blade, 1vol 1tone. The sound is very faint when plugged in, but if i touch my finger on one of the hot leads the sound comes through very clear. Yep, you nailed it. You got a ground problem somewhere, or a funky solder connection, more than likely where you're touching the Hot lead.





However, if you can touch any Hot lead and have good results, it's definitely a ground issue.





Take a piect of wire(6'; to a foot) and touch around from the ground on the output jack to various ground points on the rest of the electronics till you find the magic spot. May have to solder a wire from there to that ground.





Oh, are you aware that everything sould be grounded to the Bridge as well as the 1/4'; out?
